Glamorgan County Cricket Club is seeking a skilled and motivated Chef to join the C&E culinary team at Sophia Gardens. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality food across a wide range of events, including conferences, banquets, corporate functions and matchday hospitality. The ideal candidate will be flexible, organised, and passionate about consistently delivering excellent food and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook, and present food for conferences, events and matchday hospitality
  • Deliver menus to a high standard, ensuring consistency, quality, and presentation
  • Support the planning and execution of bespoke menus for corporate and private events
  • Work closely with the C&E team to meet event schedules and guest expectations
  • Maintain excellent standards of food hygiene, health and safety
  • Ensure kitchen areas are clean, organised and compliant with regulations
  • Assist with stock control, ordering and minimising food waste
  • Adapt quickly to changing event requirements and service volumes
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
  • Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Level 2 or above preferred)
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced events environment
  • Strong time-management and organisational skills
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills
  • Passion for food and delivering exceptional guest experiences
  • Flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends and matchdays
  • Working in a busy kitchen environment during peak event time
Qualifications & Experience
  • Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proven experience as a Chef, ideally in events hospitality or high-volume catering.
