Auckland Cricket: Finance and Administration Manager (Deadline – Mar 7)
The Auckland cricket team represents the Auckland region and is one of six domestic first-class teams in New Zealand. Governed by the Auckland Cricket Association, they are the most successful team.
Auckland Cricket is the largest Major Association in New Zealand and is charged with the responsibility of growing, developing, and promoting the game of cricket within Auckland, from elite level to grassroots. The organisation works collaboratively with a network of clubs and schools across the Auckland region, and New Zealand Cricket, to grow a love for the game and foster talent to create the next generation of Aces and Hearts on the domestic stage, along with Blackcaps and Whiteferns on the international stage. The association, players and staff have a proud history of success, and this pivotal leadership role will drive the association\’s ambition to be at the forefront delivery of cricket programmes in New Zealand.
Role Summary
As Finance and Administration Manager, you will take responsibility for leading the Finance and Administration Functions for Auckland Cricket. The role will enable the business to operate effectively whilst providing strong systems support to the respective departments at Auckland Cricket.
You will be responsible for leading the ‘business of cricket’ and assist in the effective management of the Auckland Cricket offices and environment.
Desired Skills and Experience
- A proven track record in financial reporting and analysis and administration management.
- Ability to lead strategic planning, execution, and delivery.
- Strategic programme design, delivery and assessment experience including the development and management of annual strategic and operational plans.
- Prior financial audit and year end delivery would be seen as an advantage.
- Business acumen to include budget management and delivery, financial application to specific programmes and review.
- Strategic leadership including progressive people management to drive a professional development culture.
- Ability to influence others and constructively challenge if/when required.
- Strong communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships with a very diverse group of internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification within finance or business.
