DBR Group, acting as a Recruitment Agency, are recruiting for an experienced Branch Logistics Manager to work at our client who are a household name in the Industrial Industry, in Manchester. Our client is now one of only four major paper and board merchants left in the UK. Their massive emphasis on customer service sets out to provide a refreshing alternative to their competitors. They sell to customers who value high levels of stock, service excellence, independence of ownership and spirit, and upbeat attitudes. Their aim is to provide consistency of performance and value for money in all they do, with a highly personal touch.
Role Overview
This role will involve ensuring the smooth operation of the Warehouse and deliveries to and from the site. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the operation which is a 24 hour 5 days a week distribution business. You will be expected to lead by example and ensure all duties are fairly distributed amongst your team.
This Role Will Include:
- Daily Management of all staff including recruiting, training, motivating and overall guidance to achieve the goals of the business.
- Ensure the integrity of the systems are maintained by using the WMS system to its full extent and making sure the Team are fully trained on all aspects of the system.
- Ensure systems are in place to make sure all goods are processed correctly and delivered on the correct vehicles to both Group facilities and customer facilities.
- Investigate any failures in procedures and make sure systems are put in place to ensure they are not repeated.
- Complete all facility checks and maintenance actioned in accordance with company policies.
- Oversee Vehicle and Equipment maintenance and assist with breakdowns.
- Ensure all runs are correctly planned to optimise vehicle utilisation.
- Warehouse manager experience would be an advantage. Warehouse management system is run on Corber Advantage if used before.
Hours: 9.30am to 6.30pm
Remuneration: £36,000 to £40,000 depending on experience. Various benefits included after completion of probationary period.
