Role Overview

The Health & Safety Coordinator supports the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards across Cubis Systems and specifically at our Tallington site. The role ensures compliance with legal requirements, promotes a strong safety culture, and works closely with site teams to reduce risk and improve performance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure site activities align with current health and safety legislation, company policies, and group SHEQ frameworks. Provide guidance to teams on safe working practices and support the consistent application of standards across the site.
  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Health & Safety Management System, ensuring documentation, processes, and practices meet ISO requirements and are always audit‑ready.
  • Regularly review and update HSE documentation to reflect legislative changes, operational updates, and best practice, ensuring accessibility and awareness across the workforce.
  • Work with operational teams to develop, review, and implement risk assessments and method statements, ensuring hazards are identified and controls are effective and practical.
  • Proactively identify potential hazards through observation and engagement with employees, supporting the introduction of appropriate risk controls to prevent incidents.
  • Conduct routine inspections to monitor compliance, identify areas for improvement, and ensure actions are tracked and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all incidents are accurately recorded, investigated promptly, and reported in line with company and legal requirements.
  • Assist in identifying underlying causes of incidents and support the implementation of corrective and preventative actions to reduce recurrence.
  • Analyse incident data and trends to identify recurring issues and recommend targeted actions to improve safety performance.
  • Coordinate and deliver HSE training programmes, ensuring all employees and contractors are equipped with the knowledge to work safely.
  • Encourage a proactive safety culture through engagement activities, campaigns, and visible leadership support.
  • Maintain accurate training records and ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements across the workforce.
  • Support preparation for audits by ensuring documentation is accurate, actions are closed, and compliance can be demonstrated effectively.
  • Compile and present regular reports on safety performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and improvement actions.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and site leadership teams.
  • Act as a point of contact for H&S queries at site level.
  • Support engagement initiatives to build a positive safety culture.
  • Track key safety indicators and provide insights to site leadership, driving continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a Health & Safety role, ideally within manufacturing or an industrial environment.
  • NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience with ISO 45001 / integrated management systems.
  • Experience supporting audits and inspections.
  • Knowledge of HSE legislation (UK/ROI).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • High level IT skills including proficiency in full MS Office suite, Excel, Word, Outlook, Access.
