Business Development Manager – NI & ROI

Role Overview

The Business Development Manager (NI & ROI) is responsible for driving profitable growth across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland through the development of new business opportunities and the expansion of existing customer relationships.

The role focuses on promoting Cubis Systems’ infrastructure and access solutions to utilities, contractors, consultants and local authorities, strengthening market presence and achieving aligned regional sales targets.

  • Develop and deliver a territory sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue and margin targets for NI & ROI.
  • Proactively promote the Cubis Systems product portfolio and value proposition to design houses, contractors and merchants across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
  • Plan, organise and deliver professional Lunch & Learn sessions to design teams, contractors and merchants to educate stakeholders on Cubis Systems products, applications and technical benefits.
  • Identify, develop and convert new business opportunities across utilities, infrastructure, construction and public sector clients.
  • Build and maintain a strong project pipeline, managing opportunities from specification through to order placement.
  • Proactively pursue early‑stage project engagement to position Cubis Systems as the preferred solution provider.
  • Build trusted relationships with key decision‑makers including consultants, contractors, utilities and framework partners.
  • Manage strategic accounts within the territory, ensuring consistent engagement and long‑term partnership development.
  • Work closely with customers to understand technical, commercial and project requirements and propose suitable Cubis solutions.
  • Drive product specification at design and pre‑construction stages, working closely with specifiers and engineers.
  • Promote the Cubis product portfolio and value proposition through site visits, presentations and technical meetings.
  • Represent Cubis Systems at industry events, trade shows and regional networking forums.
  • Work closely with internal sales, customer service, technical and operations teams to ensure effective handover of projects and customer expectations.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates and market intelligence to support business planning.
  • Collaborate with marketing on regional campaigns, product launches and promotional activity.
  • Track and report on KPIs including revenue, pipeline value, conversion rates and specification wins.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date CRM records and ensure accurate reporting of sales activity.
  • Conduct all activities in line with Cubis Systems’ Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture during customer visits and site engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards and competition law.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Business Development or Sales role within construction, infrastructure, utilities or a related B2B environment.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Minimum HNC in Engineering or Business; Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Full clean driving licence and willingness to travel extensively across NI & ROI.
  • Experience of specification‑led or project‑based selling.
  • Excellent relationship‑building, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen and planning ability.
  • Results‑driven, self‑motivated and resilient.
  • Professional and credible with customers and stakeholders.
  • Highly organised with strong time and territory management skills.
  • Team‑oriented, collaborative and proactive.
  • Experience working with utilities, local authorities or framework agreements is desirable.
  • Technical understanding of civil, drainage or infrastructure products is desirable.
  • Experience using CRM systems and pipeline management tools is desirable.
