Job Description:

Due to maternity leave, we are looking to recruit a Finance Business Controller for the UK & Ireland Cement and Packed Products (C&PP) cluster on a 12-month Fixed Term Contract, based in either the UK or Ireland.

As a Finance Business Controller, you will support the UK & Ireland C&PP Finance Director through regular and ad hoc reporting, reviewing and monitoring financial results. This role involves strong engagement with both the UK and Irish finance teams, across business planning and reporting cycles and financial reporting matters.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare consolidated reports, high-level commentaries, financial analysis, and presentations for key stakeholders as part of monthly reporting processes.
  • Liaise with the Tarmac C&PP and Irish Cement Finance teams on budget preparation, forecasting, strategic planning, and other processes throughout the year.
  • Support performance improvement initiatives, working closely with finance teams on management information development and process simplification.
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Controls, Internal Audit, and External Audit teams, including coordination of SOX activities and process improvements.
  • Support topics such as performance bridges, initiatives, Capex approvals, UK CO2 purchase program, and weekly sales reporting.
  • Own ad hoc projects and data analysis as required.

To be successful, you\’ll need:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA), preferably available immediately or with a short notice period.
  • Proven ability to manage workflows with multiple stakeholders.
  • Data analysis and manipulation skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel; Power BI skills are a plus.
  • Experience with SAP, ExQL, or Hyperion is advantageous.
  • Drive for results with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.

Note: This is a hybrid role based in the UK or Ireland, with weekly travel to Birmingham.
