We are looking for an experienced and qualified Mechanical Engineer to join our Dumfries branch. This is a practical, hands‑on field role with plenty of variety and opportunities for development.

Responsibilities

  • Install, commission, set up and test water filtration systems on sewage treatment sites.
  • Carry out site inspections, fault finding and produce survey reports for quotations.
  • Access and interpret technical instructions using mobile electronic devices.
  • Work at heights, in confined spaces and in all weather conditions on wastewater sites.
  • Work away from home regularly, including overnight stays.
  • Occasionally work in Hydro workshops across the UK.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and trades as part of a strong multi‑disciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • A current valid UK driving licence.
  • City & Guilds mechanical engineering qualification.
  • Completion of a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.
