We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Design Technician to join our existing UK Masonry sales team based in Sheffield, UK. The role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with customers to make sales and increase profitability, encouraging repeat purchases and brand loyalty by adding value to transactions and providing excellent customer service. You will provide detailed technical support and advice on our products and accessories to customers and colleagues, actively driving our solution‑selling ethos through value‑added design collaboration and elevated customer experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce safe, practical and cost‑effective solutions to design problems posed by specifiers and purchasing customers.
  • Review Architects' and Engineers' construction drawings, bills of quantities and other documentation to identify the required products, liaising with them and the design team as necessary to clarify details or request information.
  • Carry out designs to determine correct product specifications and communicate details, mark‑ups, assumptions, etc. to the customer and pass this information to the commercial team to produce a quotation.
  • Identify opportunities for new products and improvement of existing products to reduce costs, improve quality or meet new requirements.
  • Provide full training on our products and design tools.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in maths and English grades A‑C.
  • Enthusiastic person with a can‑do attitude able to work on own initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Methodical, organised and able to prioritise tasks.
  • Computer literate (particularly Microsoft Office and Dynamics CRM).
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage and respond to multiple issues at once while meeting deadlines.
  • Proven track record of account management and converting quotes to orders.
  • Experience reading and understanding technical drawings (ideally in construction or manufacturing).
