Key Responsibilities
- Clinical Excellence: Independently perform diagnostic scans during IVF treatment and early pregnancy stages, ensuring clear, high-quality images are obtained for accurate diagnosis.
- Patient Care & Communication: Introduce yourself and the chaperone to each patient, ensuring they feel comfortable and well-informed throughout the process. Demonstrate empathy when discussing sensitive results and provide compassionate care during challenging moments.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Work closely with colleagues within the Sonography department and across multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless patient care. Maintain strong communication and teamwork to enhance the overall patient experience.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all images and scan findings are properly documented and stored. Communicate preliminary findings to the consulting physician in a timely manner.
- Operational Efficiency: Manage patient appointments effectively, ensuring minimal wait times. Monitor equipment and ensure the scan room is well-stocked and prepared at the start of each shift.
- Diagnostic Responsibility: Perform diagnostic monitoring scans, interpret results, and make decisions on whether further investigation is needed based on scan findings.
- Patient Safety & Comfort: Prioritise patient well-being by monitoring their comfort and safety throughout each procedure. Ensure a high level of professionalism and attention to detail in all interactions.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict infection prevention and control procedures. Ensure equipment and work areas are sanitised according to hospital standards.
- Professional Development: Commit to ongoing education and skills development, including completing mandatory e-learning modules and attending relevant training sessions.
- Collaboration in Research: Contribute to clinical audits and participate in research initiatives, with opportunities for publication in peer-reviewed journals. Engage in continuous learning and attend departmental Journal Club meetings to stay updated with the latest developments in medical sonography.

- Proven expertise in performing diagnostic ultrasound scans, particularly in IVF and early pregnancy care.
