Our client, a well-established residential groundworks contractor operating across the East Midlands, is seeking a proactive and experienced SHEQ Advisor to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards across a range of fast-paced housing development sites.
The Role
As the SHEQ Advisor, you will work closely with site teams and senior management to ensure compliance, encourage best practice, and drive continual improvement across all projects. This role combines regular site visits with office-based duties and would suit someone confident in both strategic and hands-on aspects of SHEQ.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide advice and support to site teams and management on all SHEQ matters
- Carry out regular inspections, audits, and toolbox talks on active sites
- Investigate and report on incidents, near misses, and non-conformances
- Track and report on SHEQ performance indicators and trends
- Deliver training, inductions, and SHEQ awareness sessions
- Maintain and develop SHEQ management systems in line with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies
Requirements
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate (minimum requirement)
- Proven experience in a SHEQ role within residential groundworks or civil engineering
- Strong working knowledge of construction health and safety legislation
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
