Switchgear Service Engineer Location: UK-wide field based (Yorkshire Central) Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + Door-to-door Overtime + Company Vehicle + Benefits A leading electrical engineering business is seeking a Switchgear Service Engineer to support customers across the UK. You will work on critical LV, MV & HV electrical distribution equipment across industrial, utilities, commercial & infrastructure environments. This is a hands-on field role for an engineer with strong switchgear servicing, maintenance, testing or commissioning experience who enjoys fault-finding & working directly with customers. The Role Carry out planned & reactive maintenance on LV/MV/HV switchgear. Diagnose faults, complete repairs & support breakdown response. Test, inspect & service circuit breakers, protection relays, control circuits, transformers & associated equipment. Support switchgear upgrades, retrofit works, installation & commissioning activity. Produce clear service reports, test documentation & recommendations for remedial works. Work safely to electrical safety rules, site procedures & permit systems. Represent the business professionally on customer sites across the UK. What You’ll Need Proven experience servicing, maintaining, testing or commissioning electrical switchgear. Exposure to LV, 11kV, 33kV or wider MV/HV distribution equipment. Strong electrical fault-finding ability, including protection & control circuits. Experience with manufacturers such as Schneider Electric, ABB, Siemens, Eaton, Lucy Electric, Powell, Brush, B&F or similar is beneficial. Relevant electrical qualification such as NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or equivalent. Full UK driving licence & flexibility for UK travel. Ideal backgrounds include Switchgear Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Electrical Service Engineer, HV Engineer, MV Engineer or Field Service Engineer
