We are looking for an experienced Field Service Engineer to support maintenance, commissioning & service work across electrical distribution sites, substations & critical power environments. This is a strong opportunity for an engineer with a background in HV/LV switchgear, transformers, substations or electrical distribution who wants to move into a global OEM environment with long-term development, technical variety & strong earning potential.
You will be working across customer sites supporting installation, maintenance, fault finding, commissioning & diagnostics on OEM electrical equipment, with work typically involving switchgear, transformers, protection systems, distribution networks & associated substation equipment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out maintenance, servicing & commissioning on electrical distribution equipment
- Working across HV/LV switchgear, transformers & substation environments
- Fault finding, diagnostics & technical support across customer sites
- Supporting planned maintenance, reactive works & outage activity
- Carrying out testing including CT/VT work, functional testing, protection checks & condition monitoring
- Producing service reports & ensuring work is completed safely to regulated standards
- Working closely with service managers, project teams & customers on site
- Supporting a regional service patch with occasional wider travel where required
What we’re looking for:
- Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Electrical Service Engineer
- Background working with electrical distribution equipment, switchgear, transformers, substations or power systems
- Experience across HV/LV environments would be highly beneficial
- Strong fault-finding & maintenance capability
- Comfortable working on customer sites with autonomy
- Understanding of electrical safety, RAMS, isolations & permit-controlled environments
- Full UK driving licence
