Purpose of the role
The purpose of this role is to provide commercial finance support to the business, managing insightful financial planning models while ensuring flexibility to meet the changing needs of the business. You will support and challenge the teams through reviewing and producing performance reporting and analysis, as well as provide key insights to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support and develop a team of two Management Accountants
- Provide effective Business Partnership by an appropriate balance of support and challenge to drive business performance
- Play a lead role in the budgeting and reforecasting process
- Monitor weekly business performance and attend weekly trading meetings to understand impact of current trade on forecast
- Prepare relevant KPIs to ensure key business drivers are optimising performance and driving behaviour
- Support retail and e-commerce teams by providing sales and margin variance analysis
- Work closely with buying and merchandising teams to drive efficiencies
- Manage CAPEX forecasting and reporting
- Financial modelling and analysis to produce robust financial appraisals and post investment reviews
- Undertaking any other duties which may be requested by the Finance Director
Key Skills and Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
- Experience in a similar role
- Team management experience
- Desire to develop and coach the team
- Good time and organisational skills
- Good communication, influencing and presentation skills
- Proven business partner skills; capable of building relationships within various departments and leadership team
- Ability to identify errors and good attention to detail
- Strong excel skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, commercially focused environment and able to adapt to change quickly
