We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support within various medical settings, including clinics, hospitals, and urgent care facilities. This position requires a strong commitment to patient service and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs and performing intake assessments.
- Support medical administrative tasks, including managing Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and maintaining accurate patient documentation.
- Administer medications as prescribed and assist with basic life support when necessary.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers to enhance the patient experience.
- Prepare patients for examinations or procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding of the process.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within clinical environments, adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in training sessions and continuous education to stay updated on best practices in patient care.
Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or emergency medicine is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD coding and EHR systems for effective patient management.
- Ability to perform vital signs checks and assist with medication administration.
- Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including Level I and Level II trauma centers.
- Knowledge of geriatrics, medical-surgical practices, internal medicine, PICU, OR experience is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and compassionate care delivery.
