We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join our care home team in Bristol. This role involves delivering high-quality care to residents, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a compassionate approach to elder care. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents while developing your professional career within a supportive environment.
Duties:
- Oversee and supervise the delivery of personalised care plans for residents, ensuring all needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and medication management.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive resident support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update records in accordance with organisational policies.
- Contribute to organising activities and social engagement programmes for residents to promote wellbeing.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times within the care environment.
- Assist with driving responsibilities, including transporting residents when necessary.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in senior care or a similar setting, with supervising or leadership responsibilities preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of care plans, health & safety procedures, and IT systems utilised in healthcare settings.
- Driving licence is desirable for transportation duties within the role.
- Experience working in a care home environment is advantageous.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in eldercare and improving residents’ quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
