Reporting to: Regional Managing Director

About the role: Due to continued growth and expansion across the South West Region, our client is looking to further strengthen their construction/operational and regional board, with the appointment of a Construction Director. Part of the Senior Executive team and reporting to the Regional Managing Director, as Construction Director you will lead and take responsibility for the Construction process and team by building to Programme, Quality and Cost targets set by the region and Group; ensuring that 5* Customer Service and Health and Safety is incorporated into every aspect of the build process.

About you:

  • Proven track record in a similar role at the level of Construction Director or Head of Construction.
  • Proven track record of working for a PLC developer or regional house builder in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of leading construction/operational teams across the South West region.
  • A champion for customer care with excellent knowledge, understanding and experience of dealing with all issues relating to Customer Care.
  • Understands importance of Quality standards and procedures and the requirement needed to achieve and maintain a 5* customer service and customer journey.
  • Experience working in a fast paced and busy environment for a leading regional developer or PLC developer.
  • Knowledge of COINS is an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the construction trade and the relevant legislative requirements e.g. Health and Safety, NHBC requirements and Building Regulations.
  • Experience of managing budgets/cost control, and planning, prioritising and organising work to meet targets and changing business needs.
  • Someone who is self-confident, decisive, resilient and able to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • A lateral and innovative thinker, an original problem-solver.
  • A motivational team-leader focused on managing, coaching and developing the Construction team to achieve their full potential.
  • Competent user of MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
