A Head of Assessments in required to work in our highly regarded Special Projects Division.
The successful candidate will be required to take the lead in all building assessment activities in relation to buildings that the Crest Nicholson has built in the last thirty years.
This involves
- Commissioning and managing the production by independent fire engineers of compliant FRAEWs to PAS9980 and FRA/FSAs.
- Commissioning and managing the production of RFSS (retrospective fire safety strategies and structural fire assessments by independent specialist fire and structural engineers.
- Commissioning and managing the intrusive investigations necessary for the production of the above assessments and reports.
- Determining the scope of required remedial works.
- Managing the interface with building owners and management companies during the intrusive investigation and assessment process.
- Managing the interface with MHCLG on building assessments matters.
- Providing support to the Division on all assessment matters and wider matters of building remediation.
- Keeping up to date on all regulatory developments in building safety
- Providing support to our litigation team in respect of third‑party recoveries.
This is a senior appointment, and the successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Considerable experience of fire safety-related assessments.
- Likely to come from a technical or engineering background.
- Good knowledge of building and of different construction forms.
- Good knowledge of Building Regulations
- Credibility to manage the interface with both senior internal parties and external stakeholders.
- A questioning approach.
- Be highly organised.
- Experience in dealing with legal teams and litigation would also be desirable.
The appointment could be made on either a full-time or part‑time basis with a minimum of three days/week. It is a hybrid working role.
The appointee will report to the Divisional Technical Director.
