Our success is built on exceptional people, and we’re committed to attracting, developing and retaining the very best talent in the industry. We’ll give you the support, opportunities and culture to thrive, grow your career and be part of something that matters in a place where you can truly belong.

Crest Nicholson are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to be based on site, assisting on one of our Legacy Projects in the Milton Keynes area.

We take pride in delivering homes that exceed our customers’ expectations, and our Quantity Surveyors play a critical role in making that happen. From managing costs and driving value to building strong relationships with our supply chain, you’ll help shape the commercial success of developments that will become part of people’s lives for generations to come.

As an HBF five-star builder, we’re continually investing in our premium homes and evolving our house types to meet the needs of today’s homebuyers. That means we need commercially minded people who know that the detail matters, take ownership of their decisions and won’t settle for ‘good enough’. People who can balance cost, quality and value to help us deliver homes to exceptional standards.

You’ll take ownership of the commercial management of your project. From procurement and cost planning to subcontractor payments, valuations, forecasting and contractual matters, you’ll play a pivotal role in protecting margins, managing risk and driving performance.

Working closely with our operational teams, subcontractors and wider business, you’ll use your commercial expertise to make informed decisions, challenge where necessary and ensure the project is delivered efficiently, sustainably and to the highest possible standard.

Duties include:

  • The identification & procurement of suitable sub-contractors.
  • The negotiation & letting of subcontracts within required timescales.
  • Providing cost-data feedback

  • The relationships with external employers - undertaking valuations, cash flow forecasts, obtaining warranties, etc.
  • Assist at all times in maintaining a safe working environment within Company workplaces and applying the Company’s Health & Safety Policy for their own, their colleagues, third parties and the public’s benefit. Individuals must act to minimise danger and report all potential dangers and accidents to their immediate superior or designated Health & Safety Officer.

  • Confident in managing suppliers whilst negotiating and agreeing contracts
  • Builds excellent working relationships
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • CSCS card

Desirable requirements:

  • Degree or other technical qualification
  • Experience in high volume house building, e.g. 200+ units
