CSR are recruiting for a Construction Buyer on behalf of a premier, award-winning main contractor based in Belfast. This role is a direct entry into a contractor with an ever-growing pipeline of work. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete procurement lifecycle for materials, plant hire, and sub-contract packages across major build and fit-out projects.
- Execute robust tendering processes, perform commercial analysis on supplier quotes, and negotiate bulk pricing and fixed-term agreements.
- Partner with Quantity Surveyors and Site Managers to control material expenditure, mitigate supply chain risks, and track budgets.
- Oversee supply chain logistics to ensure timely, cost-effective deliveries that align with live site schedules.
Requirements
- Experience: 45+ years of proven experience as a Construction Buyer within a main contractor environment.
- Commercial Skill: Strong negotiation capabilities and a track record of delivering cost efficiencies without compromising quality or safety.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of material markets, supply chain logistics, and technical specifications.
- Attributes: A proactive, self-motivated professional with exceptional communication skills and strong attention to detail.
