An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Content Designer to join our team and organisation for a fixed-term of 12 months (Maternity cover). Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) is a not-for-profit charity that gives back to the education sector and a one-stop procurement shop, with a vision of being the first-choice procurement services charity that gives back to the education sector. Combining professional support, expert guidance, and resources with FREE training and development opportunities via Crescent Learning.
Each year CPC's Board of Trustees review the level of reserves our charity has and any surpluses are reinvested back into the education sector via the 'Giving Back' initiative. To date over £2 million has been designated for re-investment in the form of various projects with the largest amount being used specifically for awarding non-refundable grants to CPC members supporting SEND learners, wellbeing and absenteeism in colleges, schools, academies, and universities nationwide.

What’s the role? The role is offered as a full-time or part-time position based at our head office in Salford for a fixed term of 12 months (Maternity cover) from 29th June 2026 to 31st July 2027. Being part of the Communications Team, you will lead and deliver continuous improvement to our websites and digital email marketing campaign via Mailchimp to enhance and evolve our Group service offer for the benefit of our members, partners and wider stakeholders.
As a content designer you will be responsible for creating, evaluating, updating and reviewing content at all stages of the end-to-end user journey. You will work collaboratively with other multi-disciplinary team members as well as liaise with internal and external stakeholders. In this role your work may involve the creation of, or change to, a transaction, product or single piece of content that stretches across digital and offline channels. You will be responsible for delivering rich, brand-building content to support our Five-Year Strategic Plan and Communications and Marketing Strategy.
Role responsibilities include conducting thorough research on industry-related topics, generating ideas for new content types and proofreading articles before publication to ensure it is of the highest standard, engaging, meets the brief and aligned to the overall organisational messaging. Your content design skills will also be utilised for Group-wide research, surveys and direct email marketing and will support the wider Communications Team day-to-day business activity.
What are we looking for? We are looking for someone with experience in the following areas:
- The principles of writing for different digital channels, platforms and a wide range of users, including use of different formats.
- User-centred design for digital products and services – including different approaches to content and how best to use them.
- Digital email marketing systems such as Mailchimp and working with marketing lists in a CRM system.
- Pay per click and LinkedIn marketing.
- Email marketing software.
- Understanding of content life-cycle management and evidence-based content design.
