Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Carterton. The Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing and submitting financial statements, handling VAT and tax returns, and ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations for two sites. Other duties include assisting with payroll management, supporting business start-up processes, and providing insights for financial planning to support clients\β businesses. Collaboration with clients to achieve their financial goals will be expected.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, and year-end statutory accounts for multiple sites
- Experience with VAT returns, HMRC compliance, and preparation of Self-Assessment or corporation tax returns
- Skills in payroll management and Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) tasks
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, or similar)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail for accurate reporting
- Strong communication skills for working with clients and team collaboration
- Bachelor\βs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Professional accounting certification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or similar) is advantageous
- Ability to work on-site in Carterton during standard business hour.
