Context: Creo initiates and organises events and programming across three key strands: photography, film and contemporary art. Since 2007, Creo’s mission has been to develop meaningful opportunities for creatives and expand the reach of its cultural activities. Today, its flagship projects include the Sony World Photography Awards, Sony Future Filmmaker Awards, PHOTOFAIRS and Photo London.
Position Overview: We’re looking for a highly organised, creative and results-driven Marketing Manager to lead and manage the marketing team and ensure the strategies and entry and ticketing campaigns for the Sony World Photography Awards and Sony Future Filmmaker Awards are delivered. You’ll work closely with the Digital Project Manager to develop the projects’ existing strategies and additionally manage the Partnerships & Outreach Executive, Senior Content Marketing Executive and Designer to ensure each role contributes to the marketing team’s KPIs.
The successful candidate will have proven experience in delivering strategies to achieve set objectives and targets within the events industry. Your role will be to lead and develop the core entries strategies for the Sony World Photography Awards and Sony Future Filmmaker Awards and direct the team to continuously review, refine and adapt these strategies in response to performance results. You will work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to create the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition ticketing strategy for 2027.
You will lead a four-strong marketing team and manage those individuals in their different roles and responsibilities. You will also form part of the management team and work closely with the PR and Operations Directors to maintain strong cross-department communication and collaboration to deliver shared objectives across Creo’s portfolio.
To be successful in this role, you should have at least three to five years of experience in leading and managing a marketing team. A background in the event industry is a must and an appreciation for the arts and culture landscape is a plus. Having demonstrated experience in leading a variety of cultural, travel, media and event partnerships, with the ability to identify, secure and deliver high-impact collaborations aligned to KPIs and brand awareness development. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and highly developed interpersonal skills are essential to this role, as are excellent organisation and management skills.
Key Accountabilities:
- Deliver and develop the entry campaigns for the Sony World Photography Awards and Sony Future Filmmaker Awards.
- Create the Sony World Photography Awards Exhibition Ticketing Campaign, including but not limited to: reviewing 2025 exhibition and merchandise pricing strategies based on market conditions, audience and KPIs.
- Manage and implement year-round extra revenue sources (such as merchandising, the annual Sony World Photography Awards book and the travelling exhibition programme).
- Negotiate and execute contracts to secure services such as ticket platforms, event contractors or deals made with third-party vendors.
- Manage the partnership, content and social advertising strategies that feed into the wider ticketing strategy.
- Lead existing and new strategic partnerships to identify, secure and deliver high-impact collaborations aligned to objectives, KPIs and brand development.
- Lead on media advertising deals and promotions.
- Manage and oversee the marketing team's budget.
- Be a point of contact with Creo’s current and potential close stakeholders.
- Lead weekly marketing meetings and run weekly catch-ups with each team member.
- Proactively work with the Digital Marketing Manager to provide forecasts and in-depth analysis for each campaign, including end-of-campaign reports to inform future strategies.
- Work closely with the Partnerships & Outreach Executive on preparing proposals and presentations for prospective and existing clients, collaborators, partners and new business opportunities.
- Create and advise new partnership opportunities for main sponsors.
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and current stakeholders through regular communication.
- Coordinate joint campaigns, activations and co-branded opportunities.
- Monitor industry trends to identify new collaboration opportunities.
- Provide ongoing account management to nurture and grow existing partnerships.
- Work closely with the Senior Content Marketing Executive on campaign messaging, storytelling and visual style to ensure content and design are consistent for each project’s overall brand.
- Oversee and approve content, i.e. key social media posts, videos, newsletters, website interviews, competition pages and other content.
- Work closely with the Designer on the development of creative concepts across design and marketing communications.
- Oversee the creation of all digital and print assets, the annual Sony World Photography Awards book; on-site artwork for Award ceremonies, exhibitions and events; promotional materials for entries campaigns.
Behaviours and Knowledge:
- A minimum of five years of experience in a management role working in event marketing, with at least three years leading a team.
- Excellent strategic, sales and marketing skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication in English.
- Enthusiasm and a positive personality with the ability to build trusting relationships with others.
- Proven track record of developing strategies, delivering campaigns, driving sales and achieving targets.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent business etiquette.
- Detail-oriented.

Practicalities:
- Proficient in MS Office and G-Suite.
- An understanding of Mailchimp and Adobe Suite.
- The role is based in the company’s London office, 9 Manchester Square, London, W1U 3PL.
- We operate a hybrid model with Tuesday to Thursday based in the office and WFH Monday and Friday.
- Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm.
- You will be the main contact and lead the marketing team.
- Out-of-hours work at events and international travel will be required.
