We're partnering with an innovative consumer technology business to appoint a
Director of Engineering & Delivery . This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for shaping the engineering strategy behind a large-scale digital platform.
- Reporting directly to the
- C-Suite , you'll work closely with the
Director of Product to deliver an ambitious technology roadmap across web, mobile applications, and marketing technology, while helping drive the organisation's adoption of AI across engineering, operations, and customer experience.

The Opportunity
As Director of Engineering & Delivery, you'll lead the transformation of engineering practices, platform architecture, and software delivery across customer-facing and internal systems.
You’ll be responsible for building high-performing engineering teams, improving delivery velocity, driving platform modernisation, and introducing AI-enabled tooling and intelligent automation to enhance productivity and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership
- Lead, inspire and grow high-performing engineering teams across platform and application development.
- Define the engineering strategy, architecture standards and software delivery best practices.
- Champion modern engineering practices including cloud-native architecture, CI/CD, observability and platform reliability.
- Improve engineering performance, delivery speed and operational resilience.
- Partner closely with Product, Commercial and Technology leaders to successfully deliver the product roadmap.
- Drive the modernisation of customer-facing and operational technology platforms.
- Introduce AI-powered engineering tools and automation to improve software delivery.
- Oversee secure, scalable and resilient cloud infrastructure.
- Evaluate emerging technologies that enhance developer productivity and customer experience.
- Help shape the organisation's long-term AI and intelligent systems strategy.

- Deliver exceptional digital experiences across web, mobile and transactional platforms.

What We're Looking For
- Significant experience leading engineering teams within complex digital organisations.
- A commercially-minded technology leader who can align engineering investment with business objectives.
- Strong background in modern software engineering, cloud-native platforms and scalable architecture.
- Proven experience leading engineering transformation programmes and large-scale platform delivery.
- Experience with AI-enabled tooling, automation platforms or emerging AI technologies.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across Product, Commercial and Executive Leadership teams.
