To provide an efficient Ultrasound service, working within established policies and processes. To report to and support the Lead Sonographer / Operations Manager with the running of the service. To ensure an exemplary level of customer service is upheld to patients, consultants and clinic team. To perform a range of general and specialised examinations, maintaining the highest professional and technical standards.
Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Exercise the highest standard of patient care and actively improve the patient experience.
- Provide a comprehensive and effective high-quality Ultrasound service.
- Perform a range of Ultrasound examinations and maintain a high level of expertise in the safe operation of imaging equipment.
- Ensure that all Ultrasound referrals are evaluated and prioritised according to Cora Health clinical protocols.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Escalate any problems, incidents and concerns to a senior member of staff.
- Ensure accurate records are maintained in line with the policies and procedures.
- Comply with National & Local Infection Control Policies & Procedures.
- Liaise with Radiologists or referring Consultants effectively and professionally.
- Work with minimal supervision or under own initiative.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance Programme in accordance with company policies.
- Follow Health & Safety at work Act and adhere to Cora Health policies.
- Support Risk Assessments to provide safe environment, equipment and working procedures.
- Participate in further education, CPD and complete mandatory training in line with policy.
- Be prepared to vary working hours to meet service demands.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or an equivalent HCPC-approved qualification.
- Post registration experience, with recent qualifiers having experience of working unsupervised.
- Current related professional knowledge and safe use of relevant equipment.
- Maintains a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Portfolio.
