Join our team! We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our friendly and hardworking team in our Wellingborough branch. You will be providing leadership and direction for all operational staff in all matters relating to management, production and movement of timber engineering products. You will also ensure the branch is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the needs and expectations of customers and clients.
About us: Since 1967, Crendon Timber Engineering has been at the forefront of our industry. With more than 12 sites across the UK and continuing to expand, we manufacture high quality Timber Frame, Roof Trusses, Posi-Joists, and a wide range of engineered timber solutions. We are dedicated to supporting our customers, growing our team and giving back to local communities through charity partnerships.
What you'll be doing: Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Adding value to the senior management team by solving business challenges and strategic issues effectively
- Oversee production planning and management activities within the branch
- Plan and prioritise operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
- Develop the production plan, budget and timelines according to production specifications
- Responsible for the estimating, design, production, stock control, waste management, transport, and goods inwards for the branch
- Identifying skills gaps in our current workforce and facilitating the training, learning and development of the workforce
- Accountable for the safety, well-being, training and development of the employees under your remit in the branch
Skills Required:
- Strong management and organisational skills
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities on a regular basis
- Experience in all aspects of workplace health & safety management and reporting
- Excellent knowledge of the industry
- Strong communication skills
