We're currently recruiting Technical Operators for a well-established food manufacturing company based near Saffron Walden. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a temp-to-perm position with a growing business, offering long-term career prospects for the right candidates.
This role is ideal for candidates with previous factory or manufacturing experience who are looking to develop their technical skills in a modern production environment.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
- Friday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
- 45 paid hours per week (all breaks are paid)

The Role
As a Technical Operator, you'll be responsible for operating production and packing machinery while ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.
Your duties will include:
- Operating production and packing equipment.
- Following manufacturing recipes and work instructions.
- Machine operation and monitoring production processes.
- Mixing powders and ingredients.
- Packing finished products.
- Completing production, quality and manufacturing records.
- Carrying out routine equipment cleaning and basic autonomous maintenance.
- Identifying and reporting equipment faults.
- Working to HACCP, GMP and Health & Safety standards.
- Assisting with quality inspections and checks.
- Using problem-solving techniques to improve processes and minimise downtime.
What We're Looking For
- Previous factory or manufacturing experience is essential.
- Experience within food production is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience operating machinery within a production environment.
- Knowledge of packing processes and mixing ingredients/powders.
- QA/QC experience would be advantageous.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow written work instructions.
