We are recruiting for a Plant Operator to join our client’s team within a specialist manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with manufacturing or production experience who is looking to develop their skills within a hands-on plant operation role. The Role As a Plant Operator, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient manufacture, drying and packing of materials. Working as part of a small team, you will help ensure production targets are achieved, quality standards are maintained and all health, safety and environmental procedures are followed. Key Responsibilities * Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently. * Manufacture, dry and pack materials in line with production requirements. * Take production samples for quality control testing. * Maintain accurate production records and documentation. * Follow health, safety and environmental procedures, including the safe handling of potentially hazardous materials. * Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping. * Work closely with colleagues and management to meet production deadlines. * Identify opportunities to improve production processes and efficiency. * Support other departments when required. Essential Requirements * At least four GCSEs at grade C or equivalent, or 1–2 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industry. * Good written and spoken English. * Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365. * An understanding of working safely with chemicals and potentially hazardous materials. * A strong focus on health, safety and following procedures. * Good time management and the ability to prioritise tasks under pressure. * A positive, flexible and team-focused attitude. * The ability to work independently when required. * Excellent attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness. Desirable Experience * A chemistry-related degree. * Three to five years’ industrial experience in fine chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing. Physical Requirements This is a hands-on, plant-based role involving standing, walking, operating equipment and handling materials. Candidates must be comfortable working in a production environment, wearing the required PPE and following strict safety procedures. The role may involve lifting or moving weights of 25kg or more with assistance.
