We are currently recruiting an experienced Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer on behalf of our client, a well-established and reputable business operating throughout East Anglia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing refrigeration and air conditioning systems to the highest standards, while representing the company professionally when working on customer sites.
The Role
The Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Engineer will play a key role within the business, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, servicing, repairs, and installation works across a range of refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
You will be responsible for attending customer sites, diagnosing faults, completing repairs, and ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
The role includes participation in an on-call rota, providing customers with 24-hour breakdown support.
Engineers will be required to take part in the rota approximately once per week, covering Monday to Sunday.
This position requires someone who is technically capable, customer-focused, and confident working independently as well as part of a wider engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair works on refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs efficiently and effectively.
- Attend customer sites and provide a professional and reliable service.
- Participate in the company on-call rota, providing 24-hour breakdown support.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Maintain accurate records, including job cards, timesheets, and maintenance reports.
- Provide feedback and updates to company management.
- Deliver a high standard of workmanship at all times.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships through professional communication and service.
- Support and assist with the development of junior engineers by sharing knowledge and experience.

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on refrigeration systems.
- Relevant Refrigeration and Air Conditioning qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2079 Refrigerant Handling Certificate (F-Gas).
- Valid CSCS Card.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills and a professional approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible approach to working hours and participation in an on-call rota.
- Full clean UK driving licence (applicants must be aged 25 or over for insurance purposes).
- Positive, proactive “can-do” attitude.
- Working Hours & Benefits
Salary package: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience, this includes overtime and on-call bonus.
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm (40 hours per week).
Participation in an on-call rota approximately once per month
On-call cover operates Monday to Sunday, providing 24-hour customer support.
Overtime paid at time and a half.
Sunday and bank holiday working paid at double time.
Company van provided.
20 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service up to 35 days.
