We are recruiting for a Shift Team Leader to join a busy manufacturing operation in Brandon.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for managing the team, maintaining production levels and ensuring high standards of safety, quality and performance throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate workloads and ensure production targets are achieved.
- Monitor productivity, quality, downtime and waste.
- Provide leadership, coaching and support to team members.
- Assist with training and development of employees.
- Ensure company health & safety procedures and PPE requirements are followed.
- Monitor production machinery and equipment to ensure efficient operation.
- Carry out basic fault finding and escalate technical issues when required.
- Ensure the correct materials and feedstocks are being used.
- Monitor product quality and identify any issues outside specification.
- Complete shift reports, production records and handover information.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and GMP.
- Report accidents, equipment faults and damage promptly.
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency initiatives.
- Provide hands-on support to the production team when required.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor or similar production role.
- Experience within continuous production operations.
- Previous experience within a recycling or plastics environment.
- Ability to lead and support a team in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.
- Good understanding of health & safety procedures.
- Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills.
- Ability to monitor production performance and work towards agreed targets.
Desirable Experience & Qualifications
- Experience of plastics film recycling.
- Knowledge of plastics film extrusion, processing or converting.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing / 5S principles.
- Experience operating or working around extruders, granulators, cutter compactors or ancillary production equipment.
- FLT qualification.
- First Aid or Fire Warden training.
- IOSH or NEBOSH qualification.
