Creideas Recruitment is working with a highly regarded professional services organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Learning & Development Advisor. This is a brilliant opportunity for an L&D professional who likes to be visible, involved and close to the business. We’re not looking for someone who wants to sit behind a screen creating training programmes in isolation. This role needs someone who enjoys getting out into the business, building relationships, understanding what people need and turning that into learning that actually makes a difference.

You’ll be joining an established L&D function at an exciting time, with a number of learning, technology and development projects underway. It’s a varied role, so you could be delivering technical training one day, working with senior stakeholders on development needs the next, and supporting wider learning programmes and projects in between.

What will you be doing?

  • Designing and delivering engaging learning across technical, professional and behavioural skills
  • Delivering advanced Microsoft 365 training across applications including Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Coaching colleagues to get more from technology and new ways of working
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand development needs and translate them into practical learning solutions
  • Delivering soft skills development across areas such as management capability and difficult conversations
  • Supporting induction, early careers and wider employee development programmes
  • Creating engaging learning materials and e-learning content
  • Using LMS platforms to manage, schedule and track learning activity
  • Supporting technology and business change projects from an L&D perspective
  • Managing multiple programmes and priorities from inception through to delivery

There is plenty happening, so you’ll need to be comfortable spinning a few plates. The ability to work out what needs your attention, keep projects moving and communicate clearly with stakeholders will be important.

Who are we looking for?

First and foremost, you’ll be an experienced L&D professional who knows how to build credibility with people at all levels. You’ll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, able to challenge thinking when required and, importantly, know how to bring people with you. You’ll also be:

  • An engaging and confident communicator
  • Energetic, focused and commercially minded
  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable working autonomously while being a genuine team player
  • Someone who enjoys sharing knowledge and helping others develop
  • Confident designing as well as delivering learning
  • Comfortable adapting your style depending on the audience
  • Interested in technology and how it can improve the way people work and learn

Experience within professional services would be particularly useful, although it isn't essential. An L&D qualification would also be advantageous rather than a prerequisite. One thing that is essential... You need to be genuinely confident with Microsoft 365. You need to be comfortable standing in front of a room, or sitting alongside an individual, and teaching them how to use it better, from PowerPoint and Word through to more advanced Excel functionality.

Why consider it?

Because this isn't a narrow L&D delivery role. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety of projects, influence how learning is delivered and build strong relationships across the organisation. There is also scope to be creative, particularly around digital learning, technology and new approaches to development. Most importantly, they want someone who brings the human touch to L&D. Someone approachable. Someone credible. Someone who gets to know the business and its people. And someone who, rather than sending another email, is just as likely to walk over to someone's desk and say, 'Let me show you.'
