CREFC Europe is a specialist trade association in terms of both the commercial market it serves and its policy and regulatory focus, sitting at the hinge between real estate and finance.

This is a new position offering an opportunity to enhance CREFC Europe’s policy and regulatory expertise and capabilities, communication with member firms and the market and influence with policymakers and regulators, and to shape a new role within a small, collaborative, mutually supportive and driven team.

The Director of Regulatory Affairs will be responsible for developing and leading CREFC Europe’s regulatory and policy work, facing both the membership/market and policymakers/regulators, and connecting with other industry bodies with overlapping interests where appropriate.

The role offers a distinctive opportunity to build a broad and influential network spanning market participants, policymakers and regulatory authorities, providing exposure to a wide range of perspectives and a comprehensive view of the evolving landscape.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identifying, analysing and interpreting regulatory developments with meaningful implications for real estate finance markets
  • Producing consultation responses based on available member feedback and analysis
  • Identifying and cultivating relationships with relevant policymakers and regulators
  • Building a network of member firm contacts able to contribute to policy and regulatory work
  • Developing efficient and effective methods for communicating in a clear, engaging and non-technical way
  • Building working relationships with other industry groups with overlapping areas of interest

You can be operating at Senior Manager or Associate Director level or even above within your current or previous organisation; we are open minded. The main point is that you have the ambition to take on a broader, autonomous role where the focus is on applying your initiative and expertise to achieve demonstrable impact.

While working closely with the Chief Executive, it offers an opportunity to develop a network, a reputation and a legacy.

You will demonstrate strong analytical capability, experience of producing clear, structured written outputs, and experience of engaging with or interpreting financial, regulatory or public policy developments.
