Steedman & Co are an established, successful, and growing Accountancy firm, and we are looking for a Bookkeeper to join our team. This is a brand-new role with a lot of variety of work, and the chance to interact and build relationships with different clients.
You’ll support your colleagues with a range of different bookkeeping tasks, including the maintenance of financial records, reconciliations, resolving discrepancies, maintaining and updating software, accurate data entry and more. You’ll often be the front face for our clients, dealing with queries and either resolving them yourself or working with the accountant to find a solution. The role is going to suit someone who loves interacting with people and solving their problems – you’ll be a confident and articulate communicator, with a friendly and warm personality.

What will you be doing?
- Maintaining financial records and organising transactions for multiple clients
- Recording financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, others)
- Reconciling bank statements and resolving discrepancies
- Gathering and organising financial information for tax returns and audits
- Assisting accountants with document preparation (e.g. Tax)
- Answering basic client queries and solving problems
