Role Details
This role is to ensure the warehouse operational standards are achieved. As part of the day shift team, you will be responsible for the site standards of ambient, chilled & cold-store warehouse. You will ensure all goods are taken in, recorded, and put away accurately and on time and contribute to developing a customer-oriented, solutions-focused team culture. The role must also ensure all processes and procedures relating to Food Safety, Health and Safety, and the company policies are achieved and maintained.
Some responsibilities of the role include:
- Assist the Operations Manager to recruit, train and develop the Warehouse team both for new positions and succession planning.
- Contribute to the development of a diverse, inclusive, solutions-oriented, and customer service-focused culture through coaching and mentoring the team and encouraging two-way communication.
- Listen to and share employee, customer, and stakeholder feedback, and review and suggest ideas and actions to improve employee engagement, action plans, and survey results.
- Share ideas and develop innovative ways of working to improve company performance and employee engagement in line with the business strategy within the departmental budget.
- Ensure that the department demonstrates professionalism and delivers an awesome customer experience to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure the safe, accurate, and timely execution of goods-in, in accordance with company policies.
- Manage the WMS and ensure that all movements are recorded, and checks are in place to ensure that information is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain good sell-by dates and minimise waste by ensuring that stock rotation takes place.
- Ensure that the effective processing of depot waste, paper, cardboard, and plastic takes place.
- Maintain all warehouse-related equipment in a safe and satisfactory condition, adhering to manufacturers recommendations and prevailing legislation.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate must have a positive can-do attitude, be keen to learn new skills and have a desire to make a difference. Successful candidates will be highly motivated, not afraid to get stuck in and have the flexibility to work extra hours in line with the business needs.
It is essential that you have the following:
- Strong I.T and administration skills, Numeracy, and a good level of English.
- Customer Service Focus, Excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship building, and stakeholder management skills.
- An action-oriented individual, who is solutions-focused, can manage multiple priorities and deliver results on time.
- A good team player, with attention to detail and good problem-solving skills that follows processes in place and participates in sharing ideas for improvements.
- Experience working as a Warehouse Team Leader or Supervisor, ideally gained within the Foodservice sector.
- Experience or knowledge of Health and Safety, Food Safety, HACCP and IOSHH procedures.
- Experience with stock control and goods-in within a Foodservice, FMCG, or other temperature-controlled food warehouse environment.
- Supervisory experience, including coaching, mentoring, and team-building skills.
- Experience managing budgets effectively, including cost management.
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems and ideally experience using RF or Voice technology.
- Experience and relevant licence or certification to utilise Powered Pallet Trucks & Fork Lifts would be desirable.

Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm
