Role Description

The Business Development Manager role is a full-time field-based position that will be responsible for customers based within and South-East of York.

This role is responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and driving sustainable sales growth within the assigned territory area across all customer sectors.

Day-to-day activities include prospecting and managing pipelines, conducting customer visits and presentations, preparing proposals and tenders, and negotiating commercial terms in line with sales strategy.

The Business Development Manager will collaborate closely with internal teams such as sales support, marketing, supply chain, and operations to ensure seamless onboarding, service delivery, and product optimisation for customers.

The role also involves monitoring market trends, attending industry events, and providing regular performance reporting and forecasting to support strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in business development, field sales, or account management within foodservice, wholesale, or a related B2B environment.
  • A proven track record of account management, and the ability to drive service standards and support customers with their market growth plans.
  • Strong skills in prospecting, pipeline management, negotiation, and stakeholder management, with a track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships, delivering consultative support and tailored commercial solutions.
  • Comfortable working with data and reporting tools to analyse performance, forecast sales, and inform decisions.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage decision-makers and represent Creed professionally at meetings and events.
  • High level of organisation, time management, and self-motivation.
  • Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver joined-up service and customer-focused solutions.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly to customer sites, depots, and industry events as required.
  • Good IT skills and experience using Office 365, Excel and with CRM experience.
