What You'll Do
- Provide comprehensive legal advice, review, draft, and negotiate documentation for a wide variety of debt capital markets transactions across multiple product lines.
- Support the structuring and establishment of new products as well as innovative business initiatives within the Capital Markets Group.
- Engage directly with clients during negotiations and assist business units by clearly explaining complex products to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Offer strategic legal counsel on regulatory matters, reputational considerations, and documentation issues related to capital‑markets activities.
- Deliver training sessions on legal and regulatory developments to employees across the firm to ensure up‑to‑date knowledge sharing.
- Participate actively in working groups and committees within MUFG to contribute your expertise to broader organisational projects.
- Efficiently manage relationships with external law firms while ensuring prudent control over legal spend.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across both MUFG Bank and MUFG Securities EMEA plc in accordance with dual‑hat responsibilities.
- Identify potential conflicts between entities promptly and elevate issues appropriately to maintain entity neutrality.
- Maintain strict adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements while supporting both business arms effectively.
What You Bring
- Hold a university degree in law with 2‑4 years post‑qualification experience gained at a major law firm or another significant financial institution.
