Our London-based Platform Engineering team is responsible for the foundation that ensures the availability and reliability of our entire stack. As a Senior Platform Engineer in the U.K., you will lead our continued scaling efforts, acting as a generalist who can navigate complex infrastructure while specifically ensuring our persistent data tier is performant and resilient.
What you will do:
- Build and Automate: Utilize software to achieve a highly available, scalable, and reliable storage and infrastructure platform using Python or Go.
- Orchestrate Infrastructure: Work within a large distributed system based on Kubernetes, Terraform, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Database Management: Manage Cloud SQL MySQL databases, implementing distributed architectures and preventing data loss through replication technologies.
- Collaborate and Consult: Work closely with product developers to translate application requirements into infrastructure capabilities and observability patterns.
- Drive Reliability: Participate in technical design, troubleshooting, and incident response to reduce business impact and improve MTTR.

- Can Scale Systems: You have experience working in production environments at scale and architecting infrastructure for modern web applications.
- Have Monitoring Proficiency: Working knowledge of a modern monitoring stack, such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or New Relic.
- Are a Clear Communicator: You can clearly articulate technical details and communicate vertically and horizontally within an organization.
- Are Automation-Centric: You are passionate about solving operational challenges by using software and reducing manual toil through writing Python/Bash scripts.
