Credit Benchmark is a leading financial data and analytics company providing unique insights into the credit risk views of the world's leading financial institutions. Our innovative credit risk indicators enable clients to better understand the financial health of entities globally.

As we continue to scale, we are looking for a talented Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen our London-based Technology team and help us deliver secure, reliable, and high-performing systems that empower our business.

The role

Reporting to the Head of Technology, the Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in managing, supporting, and evolving Credit Benchmark's IT infrastructure. This position requires both strong technical skills and the ability to provide excellent user support to colleagues across the business. You'll split your time between operational IT support and ticket resolution—ensuring smooth day-to-day service delivery—and infrastructure projects that enhance scalability, resilience, and security. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on technical problem-solving while also contributing to longer-term system improvements.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT issues, providing responsive support for hardware, software, and network problems.
  • Manage and resolve requests via Jira Service Desk, ensuring timely updates and clear communication with end users.
  • Provide in-depth technical support for Windows desktop and server environments.
  • Monitor and maintain on-premises and cloud infrastructure (AWS & Azure).
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across systems and services.
  • Support user onboarding/offboarding and access management.
  • Maintain and optimise network infrastructure including firewalls, VPN, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Manage and improve backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Develop automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to improve support efficiency.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and business teams to deliver infrastructure projects.
  • Work with third-party vendors and service providers as needed.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will bring experience in both infrastructure management and IT support service delivery, including:

  • End-user support: Windows 11 desktop environments, Office 365, Slack, Jira, and common productivity tools.
  • Cloud platforms: AWS (IAM, EC2, S3, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk), Entra AD.
  • Networking: TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, firewall configuration and management.
  • Virtualisation & storage: VMware, Veeam/Backup Exec or similar.
  • Security: Endpoint protection, certificate management, patching, and compliance frameworks.
  • Ticketing systems: Hands-on experience managing Jira Service Desk or equivalent.
  • Automation & scripting: PowerShell, Python, or similar.
  • Strong problem solver, good communicator, ability to prioritise, intent to grow.
  • Containers (Docker/Kubernetes) and SQL Server administration are desirable.

Information Security Focus

Security is at the heart of what we do. Experience with any of the following will be highly advantageous:

  • ISO27001 or SOC 2 compliance frameworks.
  • Security risk assessment and vulnerability management.
  • Defining or maintaining enterprise security protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications (desirable but not required): Microsoft Azure/365 (Fundamentals, Associate), AWS Certified (Foundation, Practitioner, Associate, Professional), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), VMware (VCTA, VCP).

Why Join Us?

  • Be part of a collaborative, high growth fintech environment.
  • Balance hands-on IT support with exciting infrastructure and security projects.
  • Opportunity to influence technology strategy and deliver solutions that support global financial institutions.
  • Gain exposure to modern cloud and automation tools while growing your career.
  • Competitive base salary based on skills and experience.
  • Holidays: Competitive holiday package.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Private health insurance cover including mental health cover.
  • Pension: Opportunity to join company pension plan.
  • Travel: Cycle to work scheme.
  • Healthy work/life balance.
  • Family Friendly: Supportive environment and generous paid leave for new parents.
  • Learning and Development: Professional development opportunities through seminars, conferences, training and courses and internal mentorship.
  • Community: Supportive, collaborative and social team environment.
