We are growing rapidly and are looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst to join us in London.

The Opportunity

Credit Benchmark is looking to strengthen its Business Analysis capability across three agile delivery squads. This role, one of two newly created BA roles, sits within a product-led operating model where Product Strategy sets direction, Product Owners shape and prioritise outcomes, with the Business Analysts helping to convert those outcomes into clear, deliverable requirements for engineering teams. The Senior Business Analyst will play a lead role in shaping, clarifying, and driving product delivery across multiple squads. The role requires someone who can work closely with Product Owners, Product Strategy, engineering, QA, data, and operational stakeholders to turn product direction into well-structured epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and delivery-ready requirements. This is not a narrow requirements-capture role. The successful candidate will be expected to challenge assumptions, identify gaps, bring delivery discipline, and help squads make pragmatic decisions in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Owners and Product Strategy to translate product goals into clear, actionable delivery requirements.
  • Lead analysis across multiple squads, ensuring consistency of approach, documentation quality, and requirement traceability.
  • Break down initiatives into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, process flows, and supporting documentation.
  • Facilitate workshops, refinement sessions, and discovery conversations with business, product, engineering, QA, and operational stakeholders.
  • Support backlog refinement and sprint planning, helping Product Owners ensure that squad backlogs are clear, prioritised, and delivery-ready.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, gaps, and ambiguity early, and drive resolution without waiting to be directed.
  • Partner with engineering and QA to ensure requirements are understood, testable, and aligned to business outcomes.
  • Support UAT, release readiness, defect triage, and post-release review where required.
  • Mentor or provide guidance to less experienced Business Analysts, helping raise the standard of BA practice across squads.

Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for a self-starting Senior BA who can operate credibly with product and technology teams, challenge constructively, and keep delivery moving. The right person will be comfortable with overlapping responsibilities between Product Owners and BAs and will focus on making the operating model work rather than defending narrow role boundaries. This role requires strong fintech or financial services experience, SaaS experience, and confidence working with product and engineering teams, and the ability to operate with limited supervision. We are looking for someone who can bring structure, clarity, and momentum to complex product and delivery conversations.

What We Want to See

  • Involvement in setting up a BA function from scratch or in significant BA restructuring.
  • Significant experience as a Business Analyst in fintech, financial services, data products, credit markets, risk, analytics, or a related domain.
  • Significant experience in a data services or SaaS business.
  • Strong practical experience of agile delivery, particularly Scrum.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional documentation.
  • Experience working closely with Product Owners, engineering teams, QA, and senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to operate across multiple squads or workstreams without losing detail or delivery focus.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and able to bring structure to complex product, data, or workflow problems.

What We Offer

  • Ownership: Build our BA function from the ground up. BA work is currently shared across product and tech, so you’ll have the rare opportunity to define how it’s done, set the standards and shape a dedicated practice the business relies on.
  • Experience and exposure: Join an innovative ProdTech team spanning London, New York and Bangalore, building products on data from 40 of the world’s largest financial institutions.
  • Variety and impact: Get hands-on across our Data Factory, Web, API and AI solutions, so no two weeks look the same.
  • Holidays: Competitive holiday package.
  • Health and Wellbeing: Private health insurance cover including mental health cover.
  • Pension: Opportunity to join company pension plan.
  • Work/Life Balance: A healthy balance between work and life outside it.
  • Family-Friendly: Supportive environment and generous paid leave for new parents.
  • Learning and Development: Professional development opportunities through seminars, conferences, training and courses and internal mentorship.
  • Community: Supportive, collaborative and social team environment.
