Join our team as a Reporting Accountant Intern, where you will have the opportunity to assist in various financial operations including internal and external financial reporting, budget forecasts, liquidity reporting, UK regulatory reporting and tax calculations. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organised, thrives under pressure, and possesses strong analytical and IT skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting Responsibilities:
    • Produce and control monthly financial statements.
    • Conduct detailed cost analysis and provide commentaries.
    • Handle ad hoc analyses as requested by management in London and Paris.
    • Liaise with internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Regulatory Reporting Responsibilities:
    • Prepare and control monthly, quarterly, and annual returns for the Bank of England/FCA/PRA.
    • Produce capital adequacy and tax calculations.
    • Liaise with external advisers as appropriate.
  • Project Work:
    • Assist with IT platform projects and accounting projects for the Branch.
  • Best Practice:
    • Adhere strictly to internal policies and guidance.
    • Maintain and update procedures for areas under responsibility.
    • Ensure controls are carried out, documented, and escalated to the manager when necessary.

Candidate Criteria:

  • Minimal education level: Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent.
  • Graduated within the past 18 months with a 2:1 or equivalent.
  • Level of minimal experience: 0-2 years.

Experience:

  • Experience in accounting, financial control, or financial reporting is preferred.

Required Skills:

  • Competencies in detail orientation, troubleshooting, organisation, flexibility, motivation, teamwork, hard work, resilience, prioritisation, deadline adherence, and problem-solving.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products; knowledge of financial instruments and Microsoft Access is advantageous.
