Join our Structured Commodity Finance London EMEA Team for a one-year internship focusing on both Structured Commodity Finance (SCF) and Transactional Commodity Finance (TCF). This role is designed to assist in originating, developing new, and monitoring existing transactions across the EMEA region, with a focus on specific countries. This position offers a unique opportunity to strengthen our current position with existing clients and transactions, contributing significantly to the revenue growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in originating and structuring new transactions to increase the department's revenue, in close coordination with SCF EMEA Directors and the Global Head of SCF.
  • Contribute to the development and diversification of the existing portfolio within the bank's strategic framework.
  • Participate in all transaction process steps including origination, due diligence, credit application, credit committee approvals, implementation, and ongoing monitoring/follow‑up.
  • Manage transactions in restructuring and handle transactions related to counterparties under sanctions, as required.
  • Support the management of the team’s reporting requirements in liaison with London AMO for income RWA/CWA and income follow‑up, budget preparations, and strategic business line/portfolio reviews.
  • Enhance intra‑departmental communication within ITB worldwide and with different business lines of CA CIB to optimise synergies and cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Handle the on‑boarding and KYC process for SCF EMEA clients as relevant.
  • Develop relationships with other banks involved in our product line to increase the bank’s portfolio, income, profitability, and visibility in transactions.
  • Assist in the origination and structuring of TCF transactions for London‑based clients or for clients in other EMEA countries which transactions would be booked in London.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree / BSc Degree or equivalent, graduated within the past 18 months with 2:1 or equivalent, ideally with a degree in finance, economics or a related field.
  • Experience in banking or financial institution is desirable.

Required Skills

  • International‑mindful and an effective team player.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with team members.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple transactions concurrently.
  • Capable of handling various stages of project development.

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of the commodities market, including trends and structures in sectors such as energy, metals and mining and soft commodities.
