We are seeking a high-calibre Deputy Head of Finance to join our London business at a critical time of growth and regulatory change. This is a senior leadership role within Finance, offering broad exposure across financial reporting, regulatory submissions, taxation, projects, and stakeholder management in a complex, international investment banking environment. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the Branch's accounting and reporting activities, ensuring robust controls, and acting as a key deputy within the function.
As Deputy Head of Finance, you will have functional oversight of the preparation and coordination of:
- Internal and external financial reporting and analysis
- UK, French and EU regulatory reporting
- Liquidity and management reporting
- Adherence to the Firm's financial control framework
You will act as a senior point of escalation within Finance and will deputise for the Head of Finance as required, interfacing regularly with senior management locally and with Head Office in Paris.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the production of accurate and timely accounting and financial reporting for the London branch
- Ensure compliance with UK, French and EU regulatory requirements and group standards
- Oversee and contribute to tax-related activities including VAT, Corporation Tax, Banking Surcharge and ad-hoc calculations
- Act as a senior Finance contact for auditors, tax advisers and regulators
- Play an active role in finance change initiatives, systems enhancements and wider business projects
- Support testing, implementation and process improvement initiatives across Finance and IT
- Build strong relationships with Risk, Front Office, Operations, Treasury and IT
- Provide cover for the Head of Finance when required
Candidate Criteria
- Minimal education level: 1-year Master's (M1) Master's degree or equivalent
- Level of minimal experience: 3-5 years
- Experience: Strong experience in accounting, financial control and financial reporting. Solid understanding of capital markets products (FX, money markets, bonds, repos, derivatives). Strong stakeholder management and delivery mindset.
- Languages: English (fluency required), French (desirable)
- Location: Europe, United Kingdom – London; Hybrid Remote work possible.
