This position will work from home; occasional planned travel to an assigned Southfield, Michigan office location may be required. However, this position is permitted to work at a Southfield, Michigan office location if requested by the team member.

Outcomes and Activities:
  • Lead the development and maintenance of BI dashboards, reports, and data models to support business operations and strategy.
  • Collaborate with PMO, Product, Stakeholders, and Engineering to align data initiatives in the department with business goals.
  • Maintain a prioritized backlog of tasks and ensure clarity and cleanliness of data pipelines and reporting artifacts.
  • Partner with infrastructure and data engineering teams to ensure optimal performance of BI tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrate deep understanding of data sources, business processes, and reporting requirements; propose effective solutions.
  • Analyze risks and impacts of BI changes on business operations and recommend improvements.
  • Apply and advocate for team standards in data documentation, visualization, and testing.
  • Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences, recognizing upstream and downstream data impacts.
  • Continuously improve BI processes and mentor team members to enhance data literacy and analytical capabilities.
  • Monitor BI system health and proactively address issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making and continuous learning within the team.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 5 - 8 years leading BI or analytics teams.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Proven experience using BI solutions to improve business outcomes.
  • Experience managing requirements gathering, prototyping, user acceptance testing, and deployment of BI projects.
  • Basic understanding of data warehousing and web technologies.
Preferred:
  • Experience with BI lifecycle and governance frameworks.
  • Project management experience: PMP certification is a plus.
  • Experience writing SQL queries and analyzing data patterns.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based BI platforms and data services.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate complex data concepts clearly.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead with insight and make strategic recommendations.
  • Self-driven, customer-focused, and able to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work with abstract concepts.
Target Compensation: A competitive base salary range from $129,018 - $189,227. This position is eligible for an annual variable bonus of cash and equity, between 15-30%. Bonus amounts are based on individual performance. Final compensation within the range is influenced by many factors including role-specific skills, depth and experience level, industry background, relevant education and certifications. Candidates who reside in the following major metropolitan areas may be eligible for a premium on top of the posted range based on their specific zone: San Francisco, Seattle, Boston, New York City, Los Angeles and San Diego.Benefits: Excellent benefits package that includes 401(K) match, adoption assistance, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, comprehensive medical/dental/vision and many nonstandard benefits that make us a Great Place to Work.
