Credera are looking for a Personnel Security Administrator to join our Vetting & Onboarding function, supporting the delivery of HMG-aligned personnel security controls. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team, with a primary focus on BPSS clearances, alongside broader support to the Vetting & Onboarding Coordinator and wider Information Security function.

We operate a flexible hybrid working model. This requires 60% in office time in your local office (London). We value collaboration and client impact, so our hybrid model is designed to strike a balance between flexibility, in-person connection, and delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients.

The Role

You will be responsible for administering Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) checks to ensure individuals are appropriately vetted prior to employment or when re-clearance is required. In addition, you will provide administrative support across personnel security and onboarding activities, assist with elements of higher-level vetting such as Security Check (SC), and support the wider Information Security team as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process BPSS checks in line with HMG guidance, including:
    • Right to Work verification
    • Identity checks
    • Employment history verification
    • Basic criminal record checks
  • Maintain accurate and auditable vetting records
  • Monitor and progress cases, chasing outstanding information where required
  • Assist with administrative aspects of SC processing
  • Provide support to the Vetting function and wider Information Security team
  • Handle sensitive personal data in line with UK GDPR and internal security policies

Essential requirements for the role

  • SC cleared or eligible and willing to obtain SC clearance
  • Experience in administration, HR, onboarding, or vetting
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.
  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach
  • Responsible handling of sensitive and confidential information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Awareness of BPSS or government personnel security standards
  • Experience working in a compliance environment
  • Motivated to develop a career in personnel security, vetting, or information security
