Here’s what you’ll do:
- We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Architect with expertise in cloud-native data & analytics platforms and the spectrum of data value chain capabilities to join our consulting team.
- Ideally, you have experience working in public sector projects and experience in a form of data integration, such as ETL processes, microservices or event-driven architectures.
- You will be responsible for designing scalable data platforms, integrating real-time data processing solutions, and ensuring robust data management strategies for our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Define and implement platform architectures for cloud-native PaaS and SaaS applications with a focus on data, analytics & AI.
- Ensure seamless data flow across microservices and API-driven architectures.
- Establish best practices for real-time and batch processing in hybrid cloud environments.
Data Integration & Transformation:
- Develop scalable data acquisition and preparation pipelines for diverse data sources.
- Design ETL/ELT workflows for structured and unstructured data.
- Lead the implementation of streaming technologies (Kafka, AWS Kinesis, Azure Event Hub) for real-time data ingestion.
Analytics & AI:
- Define & lead principles and best practice to leverage data using modern analytics technologies.
- Define & lead technology direction to enable sustainable adoption of advanced analytics & AI, including MLOps and AIOps.
Data Management:
- Ensure data security and compliance with public sector standards (GDPR, FOIA, NIST).
- Implement robust data management & governance strategies for long-term sustainability.
- Expertise in cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and leading modern data warehouses (BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse, Snowflake, Databricks).
- Experience with big data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, Flink).
- Advise public service clients on data platform modernization strategies.
- Work closely with business, engineering, and policy teams to align solutions with organizational goals.
- Provide guidance on best practices for cloud-native data platforms.
Who you are:
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in data, analytics & AI platforms design and delivery. Experience in leading solution implementations for small teams. Public sector experience preferred (government, healthcare, or regulated industries). Strong understanding of core data management concepts over the full data lifecycle. Strong understanding of cloud-centric approaches to solution design & architecture. Strong understanding of CI/CD and modern approaches to IT delivery. Able to articulate key concepts of AI, Machine Learning and Data Mining, and how they can be leveraged within effective data platform solutions.
- Technical Expertise: Certified architect in a cloud-based platform (AWS, Azure, GCP); desired data / AI specialism. Experienced in big data & analytics technologies (e.g. Spark). Desirable experience in microservices and event-driven architectures (e.g. Kafka). Desirable experience in data modelling to ensure appropriate business data consumption. Familiarity with SQL and Python or Java. Familiarity with IaaC for Cloud Platform Delivery.
- Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder management and consulting experience. Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions. Experience in approving solutions under enterprise architectural governance.
