Position Overview:
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated DevOps and IT Engineer to join our DevOps team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical skillset, a passion for problem-solving, and the ability to drive scalable systems within a fast-paced, agile startup environment. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with weekly meetings at our London office.
DevOps team is positioned within the wider Automate Health group, enabling them to provide their expertise to Credentially, Salve and Naq. This team will be building systems and processes which will be adopted across our portfolio companies. This enables the ideal candidate to work with multiple technologies and be able to learn from the best.
Infrastructure: AWS with Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform, Azure (Power BI)
Key Responsibilities:
The initial role will include:
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to automate and streamline build, deployment, and release processes
- Configure and maintain cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security
- Establish a testing process for DevOps tasks to ensure high product quality and reliability.
- Develop and configure tools for code environment analysis and verification (static analysis, formatting, linters, checkers, etc.).
- Transition to Kubernetes and ensure a smooth migration to the platform.
- Responsible for the application monitoring and alerting, system reliability and fault tolerance.
- Participate in the team-rota for on-duty shifts.
Experience required:
- At least 3 years of experience working on production ready commercial systems
- Experience with AWS Cloud Services, including EKS (Kubernetes), ECS, Cloud Formation, Billing, and multi-account configurations.
- Proven experience with Kubernetes and Docker (EKS, GKE, kops, k3s)
- Familiarity with Azure
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
- Solid understanding of Bash/Groovy
- Skills in IaC using Terraform.
- Experience with code repository and package management on GitHub and GitHub Packages.
- Proficiency in project management tools and documentation systems, like Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge and experience with REST APIs.
- Understanding and experience with the Nginx web server.
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS, etc.)
- Familiarity with familiar 12factor app practices
