Job Description

As an experienced veterinary surgeon and leader, you will be responsible for the delivery of overall clinic performance. This includes clinical, financial and people perspectives. \\nYou understand and are passionate about the aims and model of Creature Comforts and always promote these to your team and clients.

Within this framework you will have autonomy to lead the clinic. \\nYou will be supported and guided by the leadership within Creature Comforts. You will directly line manage, support, and develop the vet team, the nursing director, and the practice director.\\n Job requirements \\n Clinical Excellence \\n Ensure the highest standards of clinical care to your patients through good leadership and team engagement.

\\n Business Performance \\n Direct and promote membership and client acquisition. \\n Direct the clinic strategy on a local level and oversee critical areas (HR, recruitment, health & safety, marketing, client care)\\n Budget planning and financial delivery \\n Leadership of the practice and the vet team \\n Excellent veterinary leadership \\n Direct the practice team – Practice Director, Nursing Director, and vet team. \\n Wellbeing \\n Be an advocate for Creature Comforts in the veterinary industry and beyond.

\\n Job responsibilities \\n Main purpose and goals \\n Clinical Excellence Lead clinical delivery: \\n Spend 80% of your time clinically. \\n Allow all team members to work to their maximum qualification. \\n Ensure excellent teamwork.

\\n Clinical governance, identifying any clinical performance issues and support and understand reasons for them; implement plans to improve. Highest standards of clinical care \\n Direct education and CPD within the team \\n Commit to evidence-based medicine approach and lead by example. \\n Organise and implement clinical audits.

\\n Identify new clinical opportunities. \\n Business Performance \\n Membership and client acquisition \\n Ensure that membership is a key focus \\n Direct relevant team members to achieve membership objectives \\n Work alongside membership manager to achieve targets \\n Create raving fans \\n Direct the clinic strategy and oversee critical areas \\n Ensure H&S policy is understood and implemented \\n Engage with and contribute to marketing strategies \\n Provide an excellent client experience at all times and ensure communication is clear and empathetic and that consent forms and estimates are fully completed \\n Oversee client complaints both clinical and non-clinical \\n Budget planning and financial performance \\n Understand the Creature Comforts business model and the KPIs that drive it. \\n As a startup our primary financial focus is time to break even \\n Work within allocated budget to drive and deliver financial performance \\n Understand the P&L and hope to influence its shape.

\\n Utilise KPIs to influence performance targets \\n Understand pricing system and ensure all work is charged for. \\n Leadership of practice & team \\n Excellent veterinary leadership \\n Be the figurehead of the clinic and lead by example \\n Direct, support and develop the clinical team \\n Lead on education, quality improvement and clinical standards \\n Regular performance conversations \\n Direct the practice team \\n Line manage the Practice Manager and the Nursing Director \\n Develop direct reports through regular 121s and PDRs \\n Effective cascade of information \\n Ensure regular, documented team meetings \\n Well Being \\n Understand the importance of wellbeing to the whole team \\n Develop a culture of respect and inclusion \\n Identify any issues early and (eg mental health first aid) and signpost/resolve \\n Adopt an honest and open culture including the use of “Vetsafe”\\n Manage debt \\n Advocate for Creature Comforts \\n Help the leadership team to develop and mould Creature Comforts \\n Promote the aims and ethos of Creature Comforts within the veterinary industry \\n Direct relevant team members to be involved in local community events eg dog shows, schools, etc. \\n Promote Creature Comforts in all that you do \\n Job benefits \\n~ Working in a beautiful clinic, alongside highly skilled veterinary professionals \\n~ Being part of a people (and animal) first culture \\n~25 days annual leave, plus your birthday off \\n~ Salary sacrifice pension scheme provided by Nest \\n~ World class team, with room to grow and learn \\n~ Regular company social events.
