The predicted salary is between 25000 - 35000 £ per year.

As a Prep Technician in Lighting, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and maintenance of lighting fixtures and control equipment, atmospherics/FX equipment, rigging, data and mains cabling/distribution, and related equipment in our warehouse. The ability to work as part of the wider team and other departments and prioritise tasks are paramount to the role. The skills and expertise you will learn in the role are valuable to other departments at Creative Technology and you can expect to find times where you are required to work with these other teams developing your own knowledge and teamwork. Previous experience of live events, and/or working with professional entertainment lighting equipment and systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Project building and configuring basic lighting control systems, including racks typically containing processors, network switches, DMX nodes, buffers, and ancillary items.
  • Prepping and testing moving and static lighting fixtures, lighting consoles and control equipment, FX equipment [smoke/haze], power and data cabling and distribution, rigging and lifting elements including truss, towers, and associated components.
  • Assisting packing prepped equipment into cases, ensuring they will not be damaged in transit and contain everything required to get the equipment working on site.
  • Completing quality control on prepped systems prior to shipping.
  • Reporting losses and damages to all departmental equipment.
