Role Overview: The Audio Engineer supports the delivery of high-quality audio solutions across a wide range of outside broadcast productions for NEP UK. Working as part of a wider technical team, the role involves operating and maintaining broadcast audio systems on OB trucks, fly-pack systems, and remote production environments. The Audio Engineer works closely with Senior Audio Engineers, demonstrating strong technical ability, teamwork, and a proactive approach to problem-solving while developing toward more senior responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support sound operations on outside broadcasts using HD/UHD trucks and fly-pack systems.
- Assist with the setup, operation, and de-rig of broadcast audio equipment on site.
- Work under the direction of Senior Audio Engineers to deliver productions to client specifications.
- Carry out first-line fault-finding and basic repairs to audio equipment during live operations.
- Collaborate effectively with Vision, VT, Camera, and wider engineering teams.
- Follow production and engineering workflows, ensuring audio systems are configured correctly and safely.
- Support remote production workflows and assist with evolving production techniques.
- Maintain equipment to NEP UK standards and report technical issues as required.
- Act professionally when dealing with clients, producers, directors, and colleagues.
- Contribute positively to a safe, efficient, and team-focused working environment.
What we’re looking for:

Interests and Background:
- HND level (or equivalent) in a relevant technical or media-related discipline, or Vocational qualification in broadcast, audio, or media technology, or Demonstrable in-work learning supported by relevant practical and theoretical training.
- Previous experience in a broadcast sound, audio engineering, or technical production role.
- Exposure to outside broadcast environments, HD/UHD trucks, or fly-pack systems is desirable.
- Basic knowledge of networking and IP-based broadcast or audio systems.
- Interest in developing a long-term career in broadcast sound engineering.
