Creative Support is seeking a caring, dynamic and highly motivated individual to support the management of one of our care home provisions, Willowtree House, based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. The service is registered with the Care Quality Commission and provides accommodation and 24 hour personal care and support to six individuals who have additional needs relating to mental health, physical disability, autism, challenging behaviour and/or sensory impairment.

You will work alongside the Registered Manager and Team Leader leading a highly committed team and contributing to the further development of our provision. The successful candidate will perform a key role in the day to day running of the service, lead by example, and provide excellent support to people with learning disabilities and additional complex needs.

You must be a confident and accountable practitioner with the ability to put quality standards into practice. Relevant experience and knowledge of working within the social care sector in support of people with learning disabilities and additional complex needs is essential, along with a relevant social care qualification.

You will carry out the role demonstrating a person-centred approach with a warm, confident and professional manner. You will be expected to supervise and mentor staff, and we are seeking an individual who has the passion, commitment and organisational ability to deliver excellent outcomes for people, including connecting individuals to their local community and promoting the service locally.

You will also work professionally with the families of the people we support, their advocates and other agencies. Regular direct contact with service users and attendance at person-centred reviews is expected. You will input directly to staff deployment and rotas and are expected to work in a flexible manner, including evenings and weekends.

Good communication and engagement skills are essential, as well as the ability to demonstrate positive regard for the people we support. You must be able to write clear assessments, support plans and guidelines and work positively within a consistent, mutually supportive team ethos. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who wants to make a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities.

This is a full time role, 38 hours per week. Full training is provided, as is the opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
