We are looking to welcome a compassionate, flexible, and motivated Female Team Leader to our Thyme Lodge service in St Helens. This service provides excellent person centred care and support to ladies and gents with learning disabilities, autism, mental health diagnosis as well as other specific health conditions. The ideal candidate will be a warm, organised, caring and flexible individual and able to provide practical and emotional support to staff and service users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and leading the team to enable the individuals accessing respite care to have a positive experience, and to be encouraged to make decisions about their respite breaks.
  • Liaising with individuals, Parents/Carers and professionals to complete care assessments and reviews.
  • Be responsible for ensuring personal, practical, emotional and social support is delivered at all times in accordance with individual support plans.
  • Assisting our Registered Manager in ensuring all guests receive the highest quality, care and support.
  • Devising rotas for the staff team and ensuring safe staffing levels are available at all times.
  • Arranging and co-ordinating respite care, taking into account individuals' specific needs and requirements and compatibility.
  • Ensuring individuals' documentation is accurate, informative and reviewed and updated within agreed timescales.
  • Completing staff supervisions and appraisals, arranging regular team meetings and updating staff matrices.
  • Completion of regular audits and attending managers meetings.

At least two years' experience in providing care and support to people with a range of complex support needs is essential for this role. As a Team Leader, compassion, motivation, diligence and an ability to empathise with individuals is also essential. You must be warm, well organised, and conscientious and demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills. You will be required to work on a rota, undertaking early, late and weekend duties as required.
